APM Terminals Partners with GOL in Ebola Fight

first_imgMaterial support to survivors of the Ebola Virus Disease discharged from the Ebola Treatment Unit at the ELWA Hospital gained support when Liberian staff members of the APM Terminals Liberia, presented an assorted items, valued at approximately $1, 500.00. (USD)  Making the presentation last Friday, October 3, at the acceptance department at the ELWA Hospital in Monrovia, Mr. Thomas G. Goba, Sr APM Terminals’ Liberia Human Resources officer, said their widow’s might is to help survivors who are discharged to face new life. “We know the Liberian government cannot do all,” Goba told ELWA Hospital’s administrator Mrs. F. Kolu Mulbah-Kamah, “and therefore the Liberian staff of APM Terminals decided to make personal contributions towards the fight of the deadly disease.”  Goba added that the staff members are convinced that once Liberians join together in the fight against the deadly disease, success is achievable.  “We want our donation to go to Liberians who have gone through the process and are discharged to return home,” Goba said. Goba expressed appreciation to doctors and health care workers at the ELWA and other health centers in the country for discharging their professional duties, despite the dangers to those infected and otherwise.  The donation included 25 bags of 25kgs United Grain rice, bales of assorted items, 25 liters of argo oil, four boxes of yellow soap, and several cartons of Cloras, among others.  Receiving the items, Mrs. F. Kolu Mulbah-Kamah, commended the APM staff workers for their thoughtful consideration to identify with their brothers and sisters who when they are discharged and are sent home without any such support. “We want to appeal to other Liberians to follow your example,” she said, “what you have done will go a long way to give hope to others.”  APM Terminals Liberia operates the Freeport of Monrovia, handling containerized shipments, with specialized personnel that handle all kinds of cargo such as rice, cement, latex, unitized or palletized cargo, vehicles, frozen products and timber.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img
