We had a lot in the first half. When we have a lot we can score.‘He is very positive. He is every time speaking about positive things. He is helping the young players.‘He came late in the squad but his commitment is very high, his behaviour.’ Comment Arsenal edged past Howe’s side with a lacklustre display at the Emirates (Picture: Getty)Emery was satisfied with Arsenal’s performance but admitted his side can still improve when in possession after a uninspiring second-half display.‘We were speaking before the match, the first four matches we played, today we wanted to do one step ahead, doing better and controlling better the match but knowing it was going to be difficult,’ he said.‘We played with a very good organisation, defensively very strong. We scored one goal and got into their box with possibilities to score goals.More: FootballRio Ferdinand urges Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to drop Manchester United starChelsea defender Fikayo Tomori reveals why he made U-turn over transfer deadline day moveMikel Arteta rates Thomas Partey’s chances of making his Arsenal debut vs Man City‘The second half was a very good opportunity to keep our confidence, to get better with the ball and stop their action with the ball.‘We did it perfectly in the first half but in the second half, maybe because the chances arrived late, we lost that.‘We are very happy with that result and very proud of that result.’MORE: Arsene Wenger highlights two problems with Paul Pogba at Manchester United David Luiz scored his first Arsenal goal as Unai Emery’s side beat Bournemouth (Picture: Getty)Unai Emery has praised David Luiz for setting an example to the young players in the Arsenal dressing room following the side’s 1-0 victory over Bournemouth.Luiz scored the only goal of the game – his first in Arsenal colours – as the Gunners edged past Eddie Howe’s men with a lacklustre performance on Sunday afternoon. The Brazilian centre-back, who arrived from Chelsea for £8million in the summer, nodded home Nicolas Pepe’s corner in the 9th minute and the north London club managed to hold on for three points.Arsenal’s victory saw them move up to third in the Premier League table, while Bournemouth sit tenth after just three wins since the start of the campaign.ADVERTISEMENT Unai Emery praises David Luiz for ‘helping’ Arsenal’s young players after win over Bournemouthcenter_img Metro Sport ReporterSunday 6 Oct 2019 5:08 pmShare this article via facebookShare this article via twitterShare this article via messengerShare this with Share this article via emailShare this article via flipboardCopy link2.2kShares Advertisement Advertisementlast_img read more
