Photo credit: GIS NewsDSC SAYS THANKS TO SPONSORS OF ITS INTERNATIONAL TAXATION IN THE CARIBBEAN CONTEXT COURSE IN AN INNOVATIVE MANNERThe Dominica State College (DSC) has taken the initiative to say thanks in an innovative way to four businesses/companies that are sponsoring the 2011 International taxation in the Caribbean Context (ITCC) course.  The College will deliver a capacity building three hour seminar to senior staff of these companies on Tuesday, 9th August, 2011 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.Vaughn E. James, JD, DD, PhD, Endowed Professor of Law and Director, Tax Clinic, Texas Tech University School of Law, Lubbock, Texas will facilitate the seminar.Three top level executives from each of the following corporate citizens will attend:Aid BankFine Foods Inc.Garraway HotelIsland Car RentalsA number of senior public servants and private sector management personnel have also been invited to attend the seminar.The seminar will be on:The Effects Of Globalization, Tax Competition And Attempts At Tax Harmonization On Caribbean EconomiesDSC wishes to place on record its gratitude to this year’s sponsors of the ITCC for the confidence they have placed in the College as an institution capable of delivering quality education and training to supervisory level professionals in Dominica.  As an institution with the motto “Stimulating Personal and Professional empowerment”, the College has decided that the best way to show its gratitude to AID Bank, Fine Foods Inc, Garraway Hotel and Island Car Rentals, is to empower their top supervisors with education about the effects of globalization on Caribbean economies. The DSC believes this is a meaningful “thank you” card to its corporate supporters.  The seminar will equip their top managers with competence in understanding the impact of globalization on Dominica’s enterprises and business and prepare them to manage effectively in the very challenging era of international finance and business.Immediately following the end of the seminar there will be a short ceremony at which participants will receive certificates of participation for attending the seminar. The media is encouraged to attend the short presentation ceremony and take the opportunity to interview some of the leading participants on:Date:   Tuesday, 9th AugustTime:   12:00 pm – 12: 20pmPlace:  Bath Estate CampusPress ReleaseDominica State Collegelast_img read more
